    Christy Pitard

    Location Development Coordinator

While born outside Buffalo NY, Christy has lived more than half of her life in the New Orleans area. With a passion for food, beverage and hospitality, there was really no other place to create a life. Her career developed by working in various bars, coffee shops and restaurants both in the front and back of house and management. She eventually settled with Dickie Brennan and Co. for nearly 10 years, further honing her skills in restaurant logistics, menu development, and cost control, among other skills. More importantly, there she cultivated the relationships needed to take the next step. In 2012, after finding an ideal location near the growing medical district, she and her husband opened Avery’s on Tulane, named for their daughter. The epitome of a small, family-owned establishment, she had a direct hand in every process from construction to menu and recipe development and everything in between. Focusing on hospitality, quality and local seafood, the restaurant was able to grow exponentially with each passing year. Beginning with the Gambit weekly, the restaurant received numerous local and national accolades, and even the occasional nod internationally. The restaurant was so successful it was even featured on The Food Network’s Diners Drive Ins, and Dives. Unfortunately, like many businesses the doors closed due to Covid. Thrilled to find a place where her skills and passion could be given new purpose, in 2021 Christy began working with Ballard Brands corporate team. Originally tasked with a focus on distribution management, she is now a Location Development Coordinator.
