    Peter Boylan, III President

    Formally Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Ballard Brands, Peter joined Ballard Brands full-time in October 2011 serving on their Board of Directors for several years before that time. Boylan adds over 25 years of professional and executive leadership experience to the Ballard Brands team. Prior to joining Ballard Brands, Boylan held senior executive positions in various companies to include the Coca-Cola Company and Honeywell, Inc. He earned an MBA from Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

    David Mesa, Jr., CFE Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer

    David Q. Mesa II, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer for PJ’s Coffee and Ballard Brands. In March 2005, he received the designation of Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) by the International Franchising Association for his work and study in the franchise industry and has maintained that designation to date. In January of 2018 Mesa was appointed to a four-year term, by United States Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, to the Louisiana District Export Council to contribute leadership and business experience in support of the Nation's joint industry/government export expansion efforts. Mr. Mesa also served eight years in the United States Marine Corp. as an Air Traffic Controller.

    Ryan J. Stansbury, CFE Franchise Development Director

    Upon receiving his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of New Orleans, he began working for Planet Beach Franchising Corporation (PBFC); a New Orleans based international spa franchise. Over a nine-year span, he served in numerous capacities for PBFC aiding the company’s growth from 55 units to nearly 400 units in 42 US states and eight different countries. Mr. Stansbury was also a multi-unit Planet Beach franchisee from 2001 to 2015. Since 2010, Mr. Stansbury has served as the Franchise Development Director for Ballard Brands, LLC. With over 15 years of franchise development experience, Mr. Stansbury’s primary responsibility is to facilitate domestic and international growth for portfolio of retail brands. In February 2007, Mr. Stansbury received the designation of Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) by the International Franchising Association for his work and study in the franchise industry and has maintained that designation to date.

    William "Bill" DiPaola Chief Operating Officer

    Born and raised in New York City to Guatemalan and Sicilian immigrants, William “Bill” DiPaola developed a love of food and passion for people at an early age. With 22 years of restaurant experience and knowledge of executive leadership inside and out, Bill DiPaola is a thought-leader among restaurant and franchise executives. He lead the charge as president and COO of Dat Dog Enterprises, overseeing the corporate office, as well as franchise and corporate operations. Bill joined PJ’s Coffee in 2018 as Chief Operating Officer.

    Jason Steele Franchise Development Director

    Mr. Steele is a Graduate from the University of Florida, with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Management. He started his career in real estate, loan processing and transition shortly after to the franchise industry. Early in his franchise career Mr. Steele worked in the QSR industry responsible for both domestic and international growth. Mr. Steele franchise experience and knowledge also includes retail franchising, and healthcare franchising. In Mr. Steele 15 plus years in the franchise industry he is responsible for over 500 new store openings. Mr. Steele primary responsibility is to facilitate domestic and international growth for portfolio of brands for Ballard Brands, LLC.

    Tori Jones Franchise Development Coordinator

    While attending Louisiana State University, Tori Jones interned for 3 years with LSU Sports Properties where she gained experience in sponsorship sales, event marketing and client services. After graduating from LSU with a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising and a minor in Business Administration, Ms. Jones started her career with Ballard Brands. In April 2018, Ms. Jones began serving as the Franchise Development Coordinator where she works closely with prospective franchisees, assisting them through the initial steps of the franchise evaluation process.

    Mark Verges Location Development Manager

    After graduating from The University of New Orleans, Mr. Verges spent several years with Circuit City Stores Inc. in various management roles and served as Executive Director in the Southeast Region. Mr. Verges also served as Director of International Operations for Planet Beach Franchising. He was also a multi-unit franchisee for this concept. Mark joined Community Coffee Company and served as Sr. Operations and Business Development Manager. He served as the Director of Franchise Operations and Development as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. Mr. Verges joined Ballard Brands LLC in 2017 as head of Location Development. His department oversees all Capital Projects, Real Estate, Design, Construction, Financial Planning, and Brand expansion. The areas of responsibility include the United States, Vietnam, Middle East and several developing international markets for Ballard Brands portfolio of businesses and restaurants.

    After graduating from Louisiana State University in Construction Management, Emily Lassus started her career as a construction representative for a large oil & gas firm. She then gained valuable real estate experience working for a real estate developer, coordinating the overall development processes for several national retail companies throughout the country. Her experience directly contributes to her current role under location development, overseeing several aspects of the real estate and construction processes to open PJ’s Coffee locations, in addition to the many other restaurant concepts under Ballard Brands. Emily brings 3+ years of project management experience to the team and is certified as an Associate Constructor (AC).

    Reid Nolte Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy

    Reid F. Nolte, Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy for PJ’s Coffee and Ballard Brands. With over 10+ years of Restaurant Marketing experience, Mr. Nolte has a successful track record of overseeing and directing brand strategy resulting in overall company profitability, franchise development growth, and store level profits. Joining Ballard Brands in 2007, Mr. Nolte specializes in Integrated Marketing Communications consisting of advertising, product innovation, public relations, digital media, product marketing, and building brand equity. Reid graduated from Saint John Fisher College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Marketing.

    Kelly Fontenot Senior Marketing Specialist

    A lifelong New Orleans native, Kelly Fontenot began her foodservice career during high school working in the restaurant of a bingo hall. After attending the University of South Alabama for Marketing and Delgado Community College for Graphic Design, she began working for the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group as a marketing manager and graphic designer. After eight years with the Brennan Group, she changed paths a bit and settled into the role of Marketing Director for Smoothie King International. This provided the hospitality background for both Fast Casual concepts as well as Full Service restaurants. In 2012, Kelly joined the Ballard Brands team as the Senior Marketing Specialist, bringing over 15 years of hospitality marketing knowledge to their diverse portfolio.

    Christian Petersen, Senior Marketing Manager, has been with Ballard Brands and the PJ's family for 8 years, coming to the company after 10 years of advertising agency experience with major brands McDonald's and Popeyes Chicken. His main foci at PJ's Coffee have been local store marketing, store openings, mass media, media planning, copywriting, and Co-Op management.

    Born in the Big Easy, but raised in the Big Apple, Shane Koppens began working for Ballard Brands in September 2017 as a Marketing Specialist. Mr Koppens graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon graduating, the New Orleans born Koppens spent stints interning for NFL teams such as the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, working closely with each of the organization's' Marketing and Public Relations departments.

    Ashley Smith is an Event Coordinator and Marketing Specialist who partners with the PJ’s Marketing Team to help define brand strategies, launch store openings, and establish community relationships. Good at wearing multiple hats, Ashley is adept at responding quickly to changing circumstances, always maintaining an upbeat, can-do attitude. Ashley holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and is active in the National Association for Catering and Events. Newly married, she enjoys food and wine pairings as well as travel, from exploring new restaurants in the city to more adventurous outings like scuba diving.

    Patrick Shaheen Vice President of Operations

    Since 2008 to present, Mr. Shaheen has served as Vice President of Operations for Ballard Brands, overseeing franchise support operations for New Orleans Brew, LLC (PJ's Coffee of New Orleans), and WOW Franchising, LLC (WOW Cafe) in Covington, Louisiana. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Shaheen served as Director of Operations for WOW Cafe. Prior to 2006, Mr. Shaheen worked for Smoothie King Franchises (Sr. Operations Consultant), Raving Brands (Regional Director of Operations), and Evamor Water (Business Development). Mr. Shaheen graduated from Louisiana State University in 1990.

    Amantha Shaw Senior Operations Consultant

    Amantha A.Shaw, Senior Operations Consultant, has been with PJ’s Coffee for over 10 years. In 2011, she began managing the original location on Maple Street. After 3.5 years of successfully managing that location, she was hired at corporate to work for the operations team. Since joining operations, our team has worked together to spread the love of PJ's Coffee with six more states and now to two other countries- Vietnam and Kuwait. She spent weeks in Kuwait helping to open and operate the location and plans to travel to many other countries to do the same.

    Brooke Stampley graduated in 2015 from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. She has been working for PJ's Coffee for almost 10 years. She started working as a Barista at PJ's Coffee in 2009, then managed a PJ's Coffee location for 3 years. She then started as an Operations Consultant for PJ's Coffee in 2016 where she is currently consulting franchisees, opening new locations, and is head of the training program.

    Meaghan Buntin joined the Ballard brands family as an operations consultant in July of 2017, coming from another local franchisor where she was responsible for business development and performance consulting. She has 11 years of experience in business administration and 4 years of franchise support experience. She currently oversees the New Orleans and Baton Rouge markets, as well as assisting with technology and software initiatives for the PJ's brand. When she’s not working for PJ's Coffee, Meaghan enjoys volunteering with local animal rescues and training in her local bodybuilding gym.

    Gabby has been with the PJ’s family since 2012 where she started out as a barista, and then managed one of our corporate locations for five years. Gabby received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University of New Orleans in 2012 and her graduate degree from University of New Orleans in 2018. With her recent promotion to Operations Consultant, Gabby will provide assistance to the rapid growth of PJ’s Coffee Franchising.

    Felton Jones, Jr. Chief Roast Master

    Mr. Jones joined the PJ’s Coffee production team in 1993 under the direction of Phyllis Jordan, our Founder. From 1996-99 Mr. Jones moved to a position with Coffee House Inc. where he became General Manager of Coffee Operations and began his journey towards gaining Roastmaster status. In 1999, Mr. Jones returned to PJ’s Coffee at the request of Phyllis Jordan to assume the position of VP of Wholesale Operations and Quality Control Manager. In 2003, Mr. Jones achieved his status as Roastmaster, and Coffee Buyer for PJ’s Coffee. Mr. Jones is certified by the Specialty Coffee Association of America in green coffee purchasing and contracts, and now operates as our Chief Roastmaster and Brand Ambassador.
