PJ's Coffee was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan where she opened her very first PJ’s on Maple Street in the Uptown district of New Orleans, Louisiana.

What are the qualifications to own a PJ's Coffee franchise?

A minimum of $75,000 in liquid capital (available cash) and at least $300,000 in net worth. In addition, you must be able to dedicate the necessary time to evaluate the franchise system with an executive in order to make a decision within four to eight weeks.

What are the general operation hours of PJ's Coffee?

What is the franchise fee?

The franchise fee is $30,000 for a single unit, $65,000 for three units and $100,000 for five units. We also offer a Military Discount of 20% off the total franchise fee for qualified military candidates.

What do I get with the franchise fee?

The franchise fee provides you with a license to operate a PJ’s, our assistance to help you open a location, access to our recipes, products, technology, training systems, operational structure, marketing programs, and more.

How long do the franchise agreements last?

The initial term of the franchise agreement is 10 years. However, there are two additional renewal terms of 10 years each.

What are the royalty fees?

Each PJ's Coffee pays 5% toward the royalty fee and 2% toward national marketing based on gross sales.

What type of training do you provide?

We bring year-round operational consulting on an individual unit basis to ensure promotional campaigns, new or seasonal product rollouts, and new operational procedures are effectively communicated to you and your team. Franchisee and management training is provided in New Orleans approximately 60 days prior to your store opening. At the time your store is ready to open, an Operations Consultant will travel to your location to train your entire team in preparation of the opening of your PJ’s.

Do you help me find a location?

We offer assistance through a systematic site selection and lease procurement process. Our internal team of experts coupled with knowledgeable retail real estate brokers in the local market assist with site identification, site evaluation, letter of intent submittal, lease negotiations, and lease review. Our goal is to identify the best site in the market that meets specific PJ's criteria while offering a favorable lease structure.
