A True Dedication to Premium Quality Coffee

By: PJ's Coffee
Category:About PJ's Coffee

As an $80 billion industry in the U.S. alone, coffee is one of the world's hottest commodities. Gone are the days of consumers ordering a "standard" cup of black coffee. Today's coffee-lovers are treated with things like specialty iced coffee drinks, lattes, coffee-flavored sodas, coffee-flavored candies, coffee-infused desserts and even coffee-scented wall plug-ins!

It's clear Americans love their coffee, and that's why they should be served only the top-quality, mouth-watering brews. So how does PJ's Coffee ensure our premium, specialty coffees are as delicious as they are sustainable?

Selling the Right Products

Of course, our business relies heavily on the products we serve. We put plenty of thought, research and strategy into our menu.

We consistently ensure our menu is satisfying our guests by taking a look at our sales reports. Once we know which products are selling the best, we can take a deeper look into the flavors and attributes that our guests enjoy the most.

All of our locations use only the top 1% of specialty Arabica beans. Additionally, we source our coffee from some of the top-quality producers globally, like Ethiopia, Honduras, Colombia and Nicaragua.

Not only do we stay tuned to what our customers are consuming, but we also keep up with our competitors and the industry itself.

Keeping Up With the Latest Trends

As with any business, it's essential to be conscious of what is occurring in the economic environment. If the past year and a half has taught us anything, it's that you never know what is just around the corner.

The pandemic has rocked every industry, attributed to changes like inflation rates and shipping delays. Our experienced team has managed to stay ahead of these by forecasting and planning accordingly.

We are strategic with the products we sell and how we present them to ensure our stores remain profitable. We highlight and swap out products as needed to provide our menu items that are always in demand.

Our team also works to introduce our guests to new menu items, facilitating education into our brews.

As for our Limited Time Offers, we choose them based on factors like current trends, best-sellers, competitor analysis and seasonality. Before rolling these LTOs out system-wide, we even test them at a handful of our corporate locations.

Remaining Health Conscious

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an upward trend in health-conscious consumers. People prioritize wellness now more than ever, and the flexibility we offer in our menu appeals to these guests.

In a time when so many are looking for dairy alternatives, we are proud to offer almond, coconut and soy milk as alternatives in any of our beverages.

One of the reasons we pay such close attention to where we source our coffee is because we keep health and wellness in mind. Our Farm to Cup experience not only speaks to our dedication as an environmentally-friendly franchise, but our Direct Trade partnerships also mean we know exactly where our coffee is coming from and how it is processed.

This eliminates the ambiguity that comes from ordering products blindly and having minimal involvement in the supply chain and manufacturing process.

Preparing for Continued Success

At PJ's Coffee, forward-minded thinking never stops. We hope to continuously improve our menu, flavor profiles and the franchise as a whole.

We are constantly striving for greater success for our franchise and franchisees alike– whether it's by staying ahead of inventory by ordering products in advance, maintaining consistent quality throughout our stores, carefully crafting each cup of joe or of course– serving it all with our good, old-fashioned southern hospitality.

  • PJs has provided me with the flexibility to prioritize my day-to-day responsibilities. While demanding, the work/life balance I have been able to obtain while owning my locations is invaluable. PJ’s is a family-oriented brand and that is evident every day - we have great working, as well as personal, relationships with many folks at corporate. It truly is a family centered culture that I am excited to grow with! - Andrew Jones
  • We loved the products and the business model, and it all worked out so well. The ability to work with them is what sets them apart. They are very reasonable people and it’s a solid company. When we went to meet the team, everyone was super kind, and it was very apparent that they provide a ton of support to their franchisees. It’s important to feel like you can always reach out to somebody when needed. - Angela Harmon
  • I think if someone is looking for a franchise opportunity they should find something that fits their lifestyle. If you're a morning person, a coffee business might be good for you. I'm a morning person so waking up at 4 A.M. is fine, the whole 'wake up and smell the coffee' thing - that's me. - Anthony Satterlee
  • I decided to look into coffee and probably spent about 3 years doing the investigation. I decided on PJ's because the quality of the product is just head and shoulders above everybody else. - Tom Lewis
  • It's easy to be successful. You can become part of your community in a way you can't otherwise in a lot of other businesses. I would highly recommend it. - Polly Fisher
  • The best part of being a franchisee is the freedom. It gives you the opportunity to provide for your family, but also be a part of your family. It gives you time to play with your children or take a vacation, but still have a fantastic business. - Kelly Songy
  • I decided owning a PJ's Coffee shop was the way to go. From start to finish, corporate was there for me when I selected a location, ordered equipment and furniture. - Mateusz Dabrowski
  • I fell in love with PJs Coffee and the brand, years before I ever owned a location and now I own two! I wanted a business that, with the right staff, would be able to operate successfully without me having to be there all day every day. PJs coffee gives you that flexibility and freedom. I also love the family atmosphere that corporate provides and the camaraderie between franchisees is wonderful! You are in business for yourself, but not by yourself, and that is a great sense of comfort and security. I love this business!
